Utilizing the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard both Aqua and its sister satellite Terra, NASA has captured astounding imagery over the past week. The images from the agency as well as those from the European Space Agency (ESA) have proven critical in monitoring the plume which presents a hazard to aviation.
